Paul won the 1984 Laurence Olivier Award as Actor of the Year in Melvyn Bragg and Howard Goodall's 'The Hired Man' and created the role of Harry Bright in the original production of 'Mamma Mia!'
On television he is best known as Graham Carpenter in 'Hollyoaks' and in his early career as Mr Christian in three series of the sitcom 'Trippers Day' with Leonard Rossiter and Bruce Forsyth.
He also played footballer Keith Nichol in two series of Channel 4's 'The Manageress' with Cherie Lunghi.
Paul has taught at Schools, Colleges and Universities across the country. He has been a director at The Worcester Swan Theatre and Derby Playhouse Theatre and was most recently a guest lecturer at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.
Paul recently played Jack Horsfall in Hull Truck Theatre's acclaimed production of 'The Glee Club' by Richard Cameron.
